IT support in detail.
Clarify tasks and handover.
How ongoing support, internal IT and project work fit together: support models, monthly reporting, older systems and an orderly handover.
Support starts with a situation from your working day.
An incident is left unresolved.
A workstation will not start and nobody takes ownership of the report. Work is held up. DAXS receives the case through the agreed support channel, assesses its impact and coordinates the response. You know who is responsible and what information is still needed.
Internal IT cannot get to its projects.
Tickets and recurring tasks absorb capacity. We take on clearly defined tasks or help with difficult cases. Your team continues to make decisions about its environment; changes and knowledge are handed over.
Deliver IT projects with a reliable handover.
New technology is installed, but documentation and ongoing support are missing. DAXS plans implementation, testing and handover together with operations. Access, dependencies and outstanding issues remain available after the project ends.
| Model | DAXS handles | Your business decides |
|---|---|---|
| External IT support | Agreed ongoing tasks, incident handling and technical development. | Priorities, budget and business requirements; scope and availability are agreed. |
| Complementing internal IT | Specific specialist topics, projects or support with complex incidents. | Which responsibilities stay with your team and which tasks are delegated. |
| Project with handover | A defined initiative including testing and documentation. | The objective, acceptance criteria and who will support the solution afterwards. |
Resolve incidents. Prepare changes. Decide how to address risks.
Support combines daily operations with planned work. Recurring tasks are agreed for your environment.
- 01Support daily work
Devices, sign-in, business applications and telephony: incidents are assessed by their operational impact. An interrupted job has a different priority from a cosmetic setting.
- 02Prepare changes
New employees, updates, licences, servers and network changes are coordinated. An agreed time window and rollback plan help prevent a small change from becoming an unplanned operational disruption.
- 03Check protection and recovery options
Outstanding security questions, backups and documented access are checked within the agreed scope. An identified issue is assigned a next step and an owner.
- 04Make the next decision
Renewals, additional work or projects are explained in practical terms. You decide the priority and budget; technical implementation is then planned.
What does a monthly overview tell you?
You see what has been completed, which incidents or risks remain open and what decision is needed next.
A short report might bring together a device replacement, an outstanding recovery test and an upcoming licensing decision. Technical detail remains available to your IT staff.
- Completed
- A workstation has been replaced. Required applications and sign-in have been checked; the old device is scheduled for return.
- Open / risk
- Recovery of a business application has not yet been tested in practice. A green backup status does not answer that question.
- Next step
- Agree the test scope, access to the test environment and the relevant business contact.
- Effort / decision
- Approve the test assignment and maintenance window. Billed work and the additional proposal are shown separately.
Example report structure and content; it is not customer evidence or a commitment to a particular service or duration. Scope is agreed individually.
Age alone is no reason to replace a system.
When an older business application remains important, support, spare parts, secure access and recovery are weighed against its role in operations.
Keep using it
The system serves its purpose, receives the necessary maintenance and can be recovered. Document its condition and set the next review point.
Secure or isolate it
Direct access or missing updates increase risk. Restrict access and control connections to other systems. The application must remain usable for its business purpose.
Separate it from old hardware
An application depends on ageing hardware. Assess virtualisation or a separate access route and test it against the business function. Licensing and manufacturer conditions are part of the assessment.
Replace it in a controlled way
Support, replacement options or recovery arrangements are no longer sufficient. Plan data transfer, testing, cutover and rollback before replacing the system.
Access and knowledge must remain available beyond one person.
We record systems, contracts, contacts and existing documentation. Your internal IT staff or previous support provider are involved wherever a handover is required.
You receive a prioritised list of what works, what is missing and which work is useful first. Responsibilities, support channels, availability and billing are agreed; this does not imply blanket round-the-clock staffing.
Taking over ongoing IT support.
An internal contact looks after daily IT alongside their main job. Incidents arrive through different channels; access and changes are only partly documented. DAXS can take on the agreed operations or complement specific tasks. The first step is to review systems, contact channels and the most important workflows together.
Prepare the takeover
Access is handed over securely, responsible people are named and urgent problems are distinguished from planned improvements. A test request shows whether reporting, follow-up questions and handling work transparently. Changes use an agreed time window and rollback plan.
Keep track of operations
A regular overview connects completed work with open risks and upcoming decisions. DAXS explains the technical need; your business decides priorities and budget. Response times, on-site work and cover arrangements are agreed for the actual scope.
View planning and acceptance points
- Record the system inventory, responsibilities and reachable contacts.
- Identify applications with a particular impact on daily work.
- Check administrative access and secure handover channels.
- Test the support channel with a sample request.
- Agree maintenance windows, backups and change approvals.
- Acceptance: document agreed tasks, outstanding issues and the next appointment.
Example review framework. Scope and suitable evidence are agreed for your environment.
